Being consistent with your recommended rehab will ensure that you stay feeling better for longer, and will help to prevent flare-ups. By stretching out right muscles and strengthening weak muscles, you will be conditioning your body to improve function and decrease/prevent pain.

Acupuncture is a technique in which practitioners stimulate specific points on the body by inserting thin sterile needles through the skin left for 20 min. Most of the time patients say that they do not feel the needles. Results from a number of studies suggest that acupuncture can help ease types of pain that are often chronic such as low-back pain, neck pain, and osteoarthritis/knee pain. It also may help reduce the frequency of tension headaches and prevent migraine headaches. Therefore, acupuncture appears to be a reasonable option for people with chronic pain to consider.

Cupping is a gentle suction that decreases muscle pain and tension. No bleeding is involved. For most patients, this is a particularly relaxing and relieving sensation. Once suctioned, the cups are generally left in place for 5-10 minutes while the patient relaxes. Research supporting the efficacy of cupping is limited, however many patients report improvements in symptoms after just a single session. Common side effects include localized redness and bruising that may last for several days.
